SXSW Survival Tips

Whether it is your first time at SXSW or you are an experienced pro, make the most of your experience with the following tips.

1. TAKE POWER NAPS:

There’s always something to do, see and hear at SXSW so make sure you get enough rest while in Austin and build in time for resting up. Retreat to your room for a power nap when you can so you are ready to network well into the night.

2. POWER UP:

Invest in a portable charger because electrical outlets are few and far between at SXSW. Don’t run out of juice and miss out on a meet up or last-minute invite.

3. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES AND CLOTHING:

SXSW is a marathon. Channel day-to-night by dressing to last from early coffee to all-day sessions and late-night parties.

4. DON’T OVERSCHEDULE

Leave time in your schedule for serendipity – the unexpected can sometimes reap the biggest rewards. Keep your ear to the ground, your eyes on your texts and Twitter, and that oh-so-popular WOM to uncover the best place to be.

5. CHECK THE WEATHER:

Austin weather can vary this time of year – from rain to excessive heat – so make sure you’re prepared.
